Other dangerous disorders that are often seen involve damage to certain joints in the body. Notably at risk joints include the knees and hips, plus the reason for that is they carry so much weight. When the joints undergo so much wear and tear, they will create other serious complications such as arthritis. However, the remedy is not always so straightforward as merely changing a destroyed joint. People that are not obese can generally go through successful joint replacement surgery. Overweight people simply do not have a good option in this case. There are particular risks built in if surgery happens as a result of the mechanics of the general situation. The joint that was changed may begin to be mechanically unsound that is highly undesireable.

The reason for this as it pertains to the cardiovascular system is the extra fat tissue still needs blood for nutrients and oxygen. The net effect is to put a terrific pressure on the heart as a result of needs of the extra fat tissue. The high blood pressure is actually due to this extra demand brought on by the extra weight.
